QNAP TS-809U-RP: High Redundancy 2U Chassis 8-Bay iSCSI NAS

QNAP Launches TS-809U-RP, High Redundancy 2U Chassis 8-Bay iSCSI NAS

Supports hot-swappable redundant power supply and up to 16TB storage capacity

QNAP introduces the enterprise-grade TS-809U-RP Turbo NAS, the 2U chassis 8-bay NAS with high redundancy, performance, and reliability. Featuring the powerful Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz CPU and 2GB DDRII memory, the giant TS-809U-RP delivers superior performance in high density data access environment. It supports 8 hot-swappable SATA hard drives and is able to serve up to a whopping 16TB storage capacity. Designed with excellent power and network redundancy, the NAS supports redundant power supply and two Giga LAN ports for load balancing or failover. Other advanced features include RAID 0/ 1/ 5/ 6/ 5+spare/ 6+spare, Online RAID Capacity Expansion, Online RAID Level Migration, iSCSI with Thin Provisioning, AES 256-bit volume-based encryption, automatic policy-based IP blocking, hard disk drive S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) etc.

"The TS-809U-RP is equipped with two power supply units, which share the load equally in normal operation. When one of them fails for any reasons, the other one will take over to supply the power of the entire NAS to ensure continuous operation. The IT administrator can replace the failed unit without turning off the server. This largely enhances the productivity of the business environment and minimizes the system maintenance cost," said Troy Lin, Product Manager from QNAP.

The TS-809U-RP supports built-in iSCSI target service with Thin Provisioning. Up to 8 iSCSI devices can be created for storage expansion or backup destination of the existing application servers on the network. The NAS comes with the Surveillance Station feature which supports real-time monitoring and video playback from up to 4 IP-based cameras. Versatile server functions are provided, e.g. file server, FTP server, DDNS support, Web server with built-in phpMyAdmin, Joomla, MySQL, SQLite, editable php.ini, MySQL server and USB printer server (max 3), etc. All these server functions can be accessed across Linux, UNIX, Mac, and Windows platforms. The NAS supports all-in-one XDove mail server by QPKG software expansion which enables the business users to establish their own mail server easily at the minimum cost.

QNAP Security: NVR

QNAP Unveils New Firmware for VioStor NVR Series-the World's First NVR with Innovative Multi-server Monitoring

QNAP Security announced the new firmware version 2.8 for the entire VioStor NVR series (VioStor-101/ 201/ 5020) to support the world’s first innovative multi-server monitoring. By the firmware update, the VioStor NVR is turned to be a high expansibility network surveillance system which is capable of monitoring up to 120 channels simultaneously.

"We are more than excited to unveil the new firmware for our VioStor NVR series. The multi-server monitoring function is a significant technology breakthrough in the network surveillance industry. By upgrading the firmware on one single VioStor NVR, our users can add other QNAP NVR servers regardless of their physical locations and monitor the channels. There is no need to install any other software and no complicated configuration is required," remarked by Jacky Cheng, Senior Product Manager from QNAP. "More importantly, a maximum of 120 IP-based cameras can be monitored on a standalone server with this embedded feature. The scale of the network surveillance is boundlessly expanded by grouping the multiple NVR servers together for simultaneous monitoring."

The new VioStor NVR firmware also brings other stunning features including the support for 15 alarm recording schedules, new IP camera models, and localized web-based interface in Polish, Korean, and Portuguese. PLANET PoE Network Switch: POE-2400P4

Quick and Easy PoE Network Deployment

To fill the demand of Full PoE power (400 Watts Full Power)The PLANET POE-2400P4 is 24-Port IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet Web Management injector Hub and complies with IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3u and IEEE 802.3af standards. With 24 10/100Base-TX Fast Ethernet ports, POE-2400P4 support full 48V DC power for any remote IEEE 802.3af powered device (PD) like Wireless LAN Access Point, IP phone, and IP Camera. Supporting PoE power budget of 380 Watts, POE-2400P4 provides sufficient 15.4 Watts PoE power to 24 remote PD devices.

Application

PoE Injector Hub
For the places hard to find the power outlet, POE-2400P4 provides the easiest way to power your Ethernet devices such as PLANET IP Camera ICA-750 on the ceiling and the Wireless Access Point WAP-4060PE installed on the top of the building.

To control the power system of your networking devices, POE-2400P4 can directly co-work with PoE IP phone like PLANET VIP-254PT to build VoIP telephony network in the office. Furthermore, the POE-2400P4 can be directly connected to any third party 802.3af compliant devices and PoE Switches installed 100 meters away.

PLANET PoE Network Switch: SGSW-2840P / SGSW-2840P4

Advanced Features and Centralized Power Management for Enterprise and Campus PoE Networking

The PLANET SGSW-2840P series PoE Switch features Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and high performance Ethernet switching capability, which optimizes the installation and power management of network devices such as wireless access points (AP), Voice over IP (VoIP) phones, and security video cameras. PoE capabilities reduce installation costs for many new network productivity devices. Power and data switching are integrated into one unit and delivered over a single cable, eliminating costs for additional AC wiring and reducing installation time. It frees the wireless AP deployment from restrictions due to power outlet locations.

Up to 36 switches IP stackable ability make the series PoE switch ideal for wiring closet of larger offices or factories, airports and communities where power is needed for remote devices and also simplified remote management. The excellent QoS capability of this product empowers the enterprises to take full advantages of the limited network resources and guarantees the best performance in VoIP and Video conferencing transmission.

Application:

Factory / Warehouse
While video surveillance system becomes more and more important for visible security in the factory or warehouse, the IP cameras with PoE function would be a lot helpful for the surveillance deployment when the power outlet not easily found in the ceiling or in the outdoor. For example, in the factory operation or in the warehouse storage security, the PoE IP camera can be installed anywhere it is needed regardless of the restrictions of power outlet location. With the PoE Switch as the central control manager and offering remote power monitoring via Web interface or SNMP trap and SNMP monitoring, the manager can get the PoE devices status and alert immediately. The PoE IP cameras could also be controlled remotely, which increases the administrator management efficiency and improve the productivity.
